Mattress licensing group Restonic, headquartered in Buffalo, New York, introduced its ComfortCare Hybrid Signature line at an event that included cash giveaways and selfie sticks on the opening day of the Winter Las Vegas Market.
Retailers visiting Restonic’s showroom were handed the selfie sticks and invited to take pictures of themselves in front of a company background. They then took turns at a roulette wheel for chances to win between $25 and $200. Altogether about $5,000 was awarded.
“The contest was a fun way to introduce the newly designed ComfortCare Hybrid Signature, which harnesses the iconic fashion trend of black and white and delivers high marks on both fashion and function,” said Ron Passaglia, president and chief executive officer of Restonic.
“Our fashion-forward, award-winning ComfortCare Signature line coupled with new foam technology was very well-received at market and we’re energized to be starting 2016 with a bevy of content strategies for our retail partners,” he said.
The Comfort Care Hybrid Signature line retails from 1,299 to $1,699.
The company also released a research survey concerning female shoppers and buyers.
It questioned 750 women, 82% of whom said they look at reviews when mattress shopping. A similar survey found that while 58% of retail sales associates sometimes talk about mattress reviews during sales, only 5% always mention them and 71% never encourage consumers to write a review themselves.
