Dormeo hires Jim Van Lear

Mattress maker Dormeo N.A., based in Plano, Texas, has appointed Jim Van Lear to the position of vice president of operations to oversee all aspects of operations and manufacturing for its facilities in Winchester, Virginia, and Plano, Texas.

Van Lear, who most recently owned and operated SensoGel, has more than 30 years of experience in the bedding industry, having operated manufacturing plants in multiple locations for Sealy, Simmons and Spring Air brands. He will be based in Plano.

“Jim is a leader in the bedding industry with a proven track record in creating efficiencies within plant operations and establishing a high level of safety, product quality, value and overall service,” said Jon Stowe, Dormeo chief executive officer. “Jim brings not only years of experience to Dormeo but a clear understanding and knowledge of the industry to implement best practices and processes to help meet our growing demand and to take Dormeo N.A. to the next level.”
