Soft-Tex International, the specialty sleep and sleep accessories manufacturer based in Waterford, New York, has promoted Jeff Chilton chief executive officer.

Chilton replaces company co-founder Arthur Perry, who is retiring after 30 years but remains on the board of directors. Previously, Chilton was president of sales and marketing.

“I am pleased with the board’s decision to appoint Jeff as our new CEO,” Perry said. “Jeff is a pleasure to work with, and his enthusiasm is contagious. He has been instrumental in building our portfolio of retail partners and to the overall success of the company during his tenure here. Jeff has been taking on increasing levels of responsibility at the organization over the past couple of years, so this promotion will be seamless.”

Commenting on his new role, Chilton said: “I am humbled and honored by this opportunity. I have learned a tremendous amount from Art; his generosity and kindness are very rare and I am looking forward to this new challenge. Our vision will be driven by delivering innovation, value and service to our ever-growing customer base. In the spirit of Art’s great leadership, my door will always be open to all employees and shareholders.”
