Atlanta-based Serta Simmons Bedding Co. LLC has named Daren Couture executive vice president of operations. He succeeds Mark Baron, who has retired.
In his new role, Couture is responsible for all aspects of operations at SSB’s 39 manufacturing facilities in Canada, Puerto Rico and the United States, as well as the company’s supply chain and procurement processes. He is based at SSB’s Corporate Center in Atlanta and reports to Michael Traub, chief executive officer.
Most recently, Couture was chief operating officer of the Philips Health Care Imaging Systems Group, where he was responsible for operations and integrated supply chain management for the medical imaging systems and devices manufacturer. Prior to Philips, he was senior vice president of integrated supply chain for Electrolux Major Appliances North America and led operations, procurement and customer service.
“As SSB continues to re-invent the way mattresses are manufactured, Daren’s breadth and depth of experience across all facets of manufacturing operations, customer service and supply chain management will help take our operations to the next level,” Traub said.
“I’m thrilled to be working with SSB, the largest bedding manufacturer and owner of two of the industry’s most recognizable and successful brands,” Couture said. “This is an exciting time in SSB’s transformation of operational excellence, and I look forward to helping the company reach new levels of efficiency and growth.”
