BekaertDeslee, with headquarters in Waregem, Belgium, created the Bounce Air Pad especially for Belgium’s Olympic athletes headed to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro.
Ticking and sewn cover supplier BekaertDeslee, with world headquarters in Waregem, Belgium, supplied members of the Belgian Olympic team participating in the 2016 Summer Olympics Aug. 5-21 with a specially designed Bounce Air Pad mattress topper.
The reversible topper is covered with Cairfull, BekaertDeslee’s three-dimensional knit spacer fabric filled with vertical polyester fibers. Quilted between two layers of the thick, breathable cover is a layer of open-cell polyurethane foam.
“We have known for a long time that our mattress fabrics can have a positive influence on improving sleep,” said Dirk Vandeplancke, BekaertDeslee chief executive officer. “For this reason, we were pleased that (the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee) chose our Bounce Air Pad for team Belgium in Rio (De Janeiro). It is an encouragement for our group, which was started at the beginning of this year when the years of know-how built up at Bekaert Textiles and DesleeClama was combined.”
