Mattress licensing group Therapedic International, with headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey, teamed up with Copper River Home, a Mooresville, North Carolina-based company, to introduce power recliner lift chairs, massage chairs, office seating and swivel recliners under the Therapedic name.
The new seating lines, which will retail from $399 to $1,199, were developed by industry veteran Philip Bell, who was the founder of Bell Furniture Industries, a furniture manufacturer and distributor. Bell now is a managing partner of Copper River Home.
The seating segments debuted at the Spring High Point Market in April in High Point, North Carolina. Copper River Home is warehousing the products in Lexington, North Carolina, and is overseeing the sales, marketing and distribution.
“This is a new product category for us, and we are excited to be working with a quality partner like Copper River Home,” said Gerry Borreggine, chief executive officer and president of Therapedic. “The whole ‘wellness’ category continues to be more important to consumers of all ages, and we are excited to be extending our brand into that growing segment of the market.”
