For the past two years, Figueiredo was international sales manager for MPG, a Portuguese-based manufacturer of office furniture. Prior to that, he was sales and marketing director and a member of the executive board of Gavedra SA, a distributor of hydraulic and gas construction equipment. During that time, he was the company’s representative in Mozambique.

He also held international sales posts at the construction company Prebuild and Nautilus Portugal and spent 14 years as export manager and later general manager of Didabrinca, a toy distributor.

Commenting on the expansion, Johnny Griggs, Ergomotion chief operating officer, said: “Adjustable bases are increasingly growing in popularity at the premium end of the market in Europe and the Middle East. Consumers are looking for greater design and product innovation and that is boosting our sales in these regions. Nuno has a wide range of sales experience in the furniture industry and other industries covering more than two decades, and he will be able to make an immediate contribution to our business.”

With more than 1 million adjustable bases sold throughout more than 30 countries, Ergomotion is part of Keeson Technology Corp. based in Jiaxing City, China.
