Global Systems Group's Newest Video Explains Science of 'Ploofy'

Carthage, Missouri-based Global Systems Group, Leggett & Platt Inc.’s machinery division, has added a new video explaining the science of “ploofy” to its Qwilt|Bilt Make It Ploofy marketing campaign.

The campaign promoting ploofy (plush + poofy) beds encourages mattress makers to use quilting technology to differentiate their mattresses from flat-top styles commonly associated with zipper-cover beds, the company said in a news release.

“The Science of Ploofy” video is a tongue-in-cheek study of a ploofy mattress’ construction characteristics. It and other ploofy videos can be found at QwiltBilt.com/Videos, along with webpages showing the benefits of Qwilt|Bilt beds, a photo gallery, a blog and more features designed to inform visitors of the value of making it ploofy.

“We’re encouraging mattress manufacturers to leverage the capacity they already have for quilting machines with a new approach to their quilted mattress styles so they can set themselves apart from their competition,” said Mike Miller, president of GSG. “It’s a new attitude for a time-tested bedding product.”

The Make It Ploofy campaign launched at ISPA EXPO 2018 in March with teaser advertisements and social media content contrasting “ploofy” (quilted) and “squishy” (nonquilted) beds.

(Rest assured no one was injured in the making of this video, especially not this cute pup who received lots of cuddles for his patient performance!)
