Award-winning Consumer Advocate is CertiPUR-US Spokesperson

Elisabeth Leamy

CertiPUR-US, a foam certification program administered by the nonprofit Alliance for Flexible Polyurethane Foam, headquartered in Rochester Hills, Michigan, has hired Elisabeth Leamy as a spokesperson for its national publicity campaign. Leamy is a 13-time Emmy winner for her TV work as a consumer advocate, as well as a journalist, columnist and author.

In a recent satellite media tour on behalf of CertiPUR-US, Leamy aired on TV news broadcasts in more than 20 markets. Additional publicity campaigns that feature Leamy will target a variety of media in 2020.

During her 25-year career as a consumer advocate, Leamy has appeared on programs such as Good Morning America and The Dr. Oz Show. In addition to her Emmys, she has earned four Edward R. Murrow awards for her reporting. She is the author of two books — Save Big: Cut Your Top 5 Costs and Save Thousands, The Savvy Consumer: How to Avoid Scams and Rip-Offs that Cost You Time and Money.

Leamy said she first learned about the CertiPUR-US program after researching it for a consumer column in the Washington Post. “I was so impressed with what this nonprofit group is doing for consumers that I partnered with them to try to help get the word out.”
