To help with COVID-19 relief efforts, manufacturer Diamond Mattress is making and shipping medical-grade mattresses to hospitals, health care facilities and shelters nationwide. It also is sewing organic cotton face masks. Depending on the need, products are being supplied either at cost or as donations.
The Compton, California-based company’s large manufacturing facility has been designated as essential critical infrastructure by the state during the pandemic. The company said it is practicing strict health and safety controls to protect employees.
There are seven types of beds available, five of which are ideal for use in health care settings because they are durable, fluid-proof, stain resistant, antimicrobial, antifungal and flame-proof. Diamond has designed several mask styles for general protection use; they are not N95 ventilator masks.
“We’ll make donations based on our evaluation of greatest need among the organizations we’re in contact with, and we’re also working with organizations and individuals looking to purchase them at cost from us because they want to donate these items to their network,” said Shaun Pennington, Diamond president.
He encouraged organizations to apply for donations or to partner in the relief effort at the company’s website, DiamondMattress.com/covidrelief.
Beds ship compressed and rolled for easy transport. Seven models and product specifications can be viewed at the company website. Contact the company for more details and for pricing via email at email@example.com.
