Enkev Adds U.S. Office and Warehouse

Enkev B.V. has opened a U.S. sales office and warehouse in Greensboro, North Carolina, managed by textile and fiber sales veteran Karsten Siewert. Enkev USA LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Volendam, Netherlands-based fiber supplier.

Marc Dokter, Enkev principal and managing director, said the time was right for the company to increase its focus on the Americas and Caribbean: “Interest in our polyurethane foam-replacing materials has been on the rise and we came to the conclusion it’s time to give these big markets the attention they deserve. (With Covid-19), the timing was a little awkward, (but) at the same time, we believe (the pandemic) is an important catalyst for healthy living and (having) a harmonious relationship with the environment. We feel that our products play a crucial role here, providing industry with clean and natural alternatives.”

Enkev has five fiber production plants — two in the Netherlands and one each in Belgium, Poland and the United Kingdom. At a time when the industry is struggling with foam shortages, Enkev offers an enormous array of natural fibers (in its PURe collection), as well as other solutions for polyurethane-foam replacement in sleep products.

“We’ve known Karsten for many years and are confident his experience in the mattress and furniture business will be a key factor in Enkev’s success,” Dokter added.
