Durak Tekstil Introducing Thread to U.S. Market

Durak Tekstil says its sewing threads can improve the quality of bedding products and make bedding manufacturers’ sewing operations more efficient.

Durak Tekstil, a manufacturer of industrial sewing and embroidery threads, is introducing its threads to the U.S. bedding market, showing at ISPA EXPO 2022 March 8-10 in Orlando, Florida.

The company, based in Bursa, Turkey, exports to more than 75 countries. Its threads for bedding and home textiles include Durak Duraless and Durak Duma bobbin sewing threads, as well as Durak Fire Safe Para Aramid threads.

“Bed linens, pique, bedspreads, sheets, pillows and pillowcases, blankets, duvets, sleeping sets and many more (items) are among the essentials for bedrooms. Their seams are as (important) as the fabrics … to the quality of the final product,” the company said in a news release. “Durak Tekstil, Turkey’s leading manufacturer of industrial sewing and embroidery threads, has many solutions in this regard with its wide product portfolio. Durak Duraless and Durak Duma sewing threads provide superior performance and strength in standard sewing processes, while Durak Fire Safe Para Aramid threads provide more safety and comfort.”

Because of their filament structure, the Durak Duraless and Durak Duma sewing threads generate less dust on sewing machines, meaning fewer machine malfunctions and broken needles, and greater production efficiency, longer uninterrupted working times and better sewing quality, according to the company. The threads have a shrinkage rate of less than 1% at 150 degrees Celsius.

The Durak Fire Safe Para Aramid sewing thread can withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees Celsius and is used in mattress tape-edge seams to help mattress manufacturers meet flammability standards. It is offered in two thicknesses, tex40 and tex60. “These threads are a natural straw yellow color and are supplied to textile manufacturers in protected, special black packages due to their UV sensitivity,” according to the news release.

Durak Tekstil, founded in 1972, has production facilities in Turkey and China.
