Glenn Kobylarczyk, executive vice president of Mlily USA, shares what consumers are requesting today — value products in the bedding industry. He takes us through Mlily’s new Onyx collection, with price points starting at less than $1,000, and predicts what’s next for 2024.

It’s Waynette Goodson and I’m your managing editor of BedTimes and Sleep Savvy Magazines. Welcome to this edition of “Take Five” with none other than Glenn Kobylarczyk. He is the executive vice president of Mlily Glenn, thank you for meeting with us today. We can’t wait to hear everything that is new at Mlily. So why don’t you kick us off?
This Onyx line is something else. Let’s talk about that.
Glenn Kobylarczyk
So what we’re looking for at this time, looking at the retail consumer, is I think it’s a big request for value product, especially in the bedding industry. Mattresses today are priced from low to high. Right now, the way the economy is, and things are going on, the consumer’s looking for a great buy, a great value. So that’s what we put together with our Onyx collection.
Waynette Goodson
Right. But I understand there’s a lot of value there. You’ve put a lot of pretty luxurious materials in the bed itself. So just talk about those foams and just how it’s constructed. Right.
Glenn Kobylarczyk
Starting with our first foam bed. That’s a 12-inch firm bed with a cooling cover, which is on all three. The only change on the other two is they are firm for a little bit more comfort. We have our different foams that are all poured here in the U.S. in our factories and also our coils. And our coils are also rolled in our factories.
So we have our firm starting out with the 12-inch. 13-inch is our softer foam, more medium than firm. And then we go to our plush, our ultra plush, but not our 14-inch.
Waynette Goodson
Wow. So you have three different heights, three different feels, and incredible materials. And it is a value price point, which is so important. So you all have been busy innovating. And I understand, like, let’s just talk about the future. Do you see like looking out to the horizon for 2024? What do you see out there? What are you excited about?
Glenn Kobylarczyk
I see business picking up a little bit. We are doing some things right now. We’re working on that we will be showing at the upcoming Las Vegas market. And it’s going to be a really nice surprise.
