Spartanburg, South Carolina-based Tietex international will debut a new version of its FR product SmartCap at the ISPA EXPO, March 12-14, in Columbus, Ohio.

According to Tietex Chairman Martin Wildeman, since the company’s SmartCap launch in 2021, his R&D team has used customer feedback to study possible refinements. “As with any groundbreaking product,” Wildeman said, “we work always to discover avenues to improved performance and value.

“In this case, we have streamlined and automated production and decided to change fabric composition to achieve lighter weight, resulting in better FR insulation and overall superior performance. Plus, we are doubling our production capacity in anticipation of future growth opportunities.”

Meanwhile, SmartCap has retained all its original attributes that deliver benefits to any company that makes and sells mattresses, Wildeman said. “We have demonstrated conclusively that, compared to sock products, our SmartCap installation continues to save substantial time, labor and cost, impacting any company’s bottom line,” he said.

Tietex President David Skellie added that the enhanced SmartCap design also offers more value. “Every customer or prospect is different,” he said, “but we’re certain that on a case-by-case basis, our new SmartCap is highly competitive in the marketplace.”

In addition to SmartCap, Tietex will debut a new FR filler barrier that should intrigue buyers with a new look, Skellie said. In conjunction with the new product, the company has also put in place a factory-direct distribution option.
