Bedding Market Quarterly Reports Sales Down in Second Quarter

Bedding Market Quarterly Sales Down

The Bedding Market Quarterly reported that total market wholesale dollars and units dropped 2.5% and 12.1%, respectively, compared with 2023. The Total Market YTD data shows wholesale dollars down 3.0% compared to 2023 and units down 7.9%, according to the International Sleep Products Association’s Bedding Market Quarterly.

In the second quarter, YTD totals for US-produced mattresses and stationary foundations, wholesale dollars were up 0.1% and units were down 8.5% compared to the same period in 2023, while Q2 YTD average unit price increased by 9.4%.

The Bedding Market Quarterly reports U.S. sales activity (including Puerto Rico) based on data provided by U.S. mattress producers. The participating companies accounted for 75.1% of the mattress units shipped and 53.9% of the wholesale market revenue for mattresses sold in 2023.

The experience of these participants as a group does not necessarily reflect those of the entire mattress manufacturing industry. Furthermore, comparisons of Bedding Market Quarterly results for different time periods can be affected by a number of factors, including differences in the number of workdays and holiday promotions in a given quarter, weather conditions, etc.
