Elektroteks Acquires Mammut

Mattress and foam machinery manufacturer Elektroteks has acquired Mammut, an industrial quilting machine manufacturer based in Cologne, Germany. The deal closed on Sept. 23.

According to a news release, Elektroteks is a family-owned company headquartered in Bursa, Turkey, with a global presence in 133 countries, 350 employees, a 70,000-square-foot production facility and a global service network. Mammut, based in Cologne, Germany, has manufactured high-performance industrial quilting machines for more than 140 years.

“This acquisition is a powerful combination of two industry leaders,” Elektroteks CEO Serkan Guler said. “We are honored to carry forward Mammut’s legacy, the oldest and most respected name in quilting machines, and look forward to collaborating on new projects that will bring cutting-edge solutions to the market.”

Company officials said Elektroteks is fully committed to preserving Mammut’s heritage while infusing new energy and ideas into the brand. Mammut’s headquarters and production facility will remain in Germany, while Elektroteks will expand Mammut’s spare parts and service operations through its global network. Michael Pavlidis will remain managing director of Mammut to ensure continuity of leadership during the integration of the two companies, the news release said.
