Spring Air Extends Partnership UAE Licensee Towell Mattress

Towell Mattress, which has produced Spring Air International products from its headquarters in the United Arab Emirates for customers in all six Gulf countries since 1999, has extended its license with the Woburn, Mass.-based bedding manufacturer and licensing group through 2035.

According to a news release, Towell operates a 100,000-square-foot production facility in Sharjah, UAE, on the Dubai border. The plant produces 1,000 mattresses per day that are sold to retailers, hospitality and institutional customers in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

“Spring Air is the exclusive international brand we sell. American products do very well in our region and are respected for style, comfort and quality,” said Towell Mattress CEO David Nixon. “When we began with Spring Air years ago, they were the first to make pillowtop mattresses, never-turn mattresses and foam-encased products, which do exceptionally well in our market. They have been terrific partners, and we are thrilled to continue working together.”

According to Spring Air President and CEO Nick Bates, Towell is representative of a growing number of domestic and international licensees that are expanding and extending relationships with the brand.

“We have a unique relationship with our licensees, which I think sets us apart from other networks. We respect and actually lean into the independence of our factories, understanding and leveraging the entrepreneurship of each owner,” Bates said. “Our licensees, and Towell is a great example of this, take tremendous pride in selling our brand and the quality and craftsmanship they put into our products. We share best practices, and we welcome their ideas and recommendations on new products and marketing. Other networks just don’t do this.”

Bates said this philosophy has benefitted Towell, which has become one of the leading foreign producers of Spring Air products. The licensee is currently manufacturing all of the brand’s major collections, including Back Supporter, Nature’s Rest and Chattam & Wells.
