Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC (SSB) is acquiring certain assets of Dormae Products, Inc., including its Serta licensee business, expanding its customer reach and strengthening its service capabilities across key channels.
“After more than 85 years as a family business and over 65 years in the mattress industry alone, this has been the most challenging time in our history,” said Michael Karotkin, President, Dormae Products, Inc. “ We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our customers, both big and small.”
The Dormae business supported Serta customers in Texas and New Mexico and had a customer mix that spans national accounts, retail and independent dealers, and hospitality.
The acquisition follows an accelerated transition effort led by cross-functional teams across SSB and Dormae that ensured a seamless transition for customers.

SSB will start producing orders on Monday, July 13, and Serta Dormae will ship their last orders on or about Friday, July 17.
The business provides SSB with additional scale and opportunities to support customers across its distribution network. SSB will also assume ownership of the facility’s production equipment and raw materials as part of the transaction once Dormae ends production.
