Sheex, a “performance fabric bedding company” founded in 2007, has named Cindy DiPietrantonio as president, a new position for the company, according to a news release.
She has served on the board of the Irmo, South Carolina-based company since 2010, and most recently was chief operating officer at apparel conglomerate The Jones Group, where she spent three decades of her career.
In her new post, DiPietrantonio works closely with Sheex co-founders and former college basketball athletes Michelle Brooke-Marciniak and Susan Walvius to refine the company’s business channel strategy, as well as lead all aspects of business operations. The company’s current product line includes a collection of globally patented sheets, bedding and sleepwear inspired by the feel and breathability of athletic-performance fabrics.
“It was a key get for us to attract Cindy into this pivotal executive role at Sheex,” said Walvius. “Her vast knowledge of textiles coupled with her extensive complementary strength as an industry hard-charger will certainly solidify our position as the leader in athletic-performance bedding and sleepwear.”
DiPietrantonio received the 2014 Roger Milliken Achievement Award, which recognized her contributions to the apparel and footwear industry. She is co-chair and a director of Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions and co-chair of VICS Item Level RFID Initiative.
Commenting on her new post, DiPietrantonio said, “I am profoundly honored to join Sheex in this newly created position, particularly at such an exciting time in the company’s history. I look forward to working with Susan and Michelle to help build on their portfolio and help to create the exciting next chapter for the company.”
