King Koil Gains Business in Southern California

King Koil’s four new retail partners are serviced from the company’s year-old factory in Avondale, Arizona.

Mattress maker and licensing group King Koil, with U.S. headquarters in Willowbrook, Illinois, has expanded its retailer base by adding 71 stores with four independent, regional partners.

The latest retailers carrying King Koil products include San Diego-based Mor Furniture for Less; Orange County, California-based Orange County Mattress; and Fresno, California-based Mattress Land. King Koil products also are sold at 39 Sit ’n Sleep locations in Southern California.

“As we continue our shift from a licensee model to a direct-to-retail manufacturing model in the U.S., it’s gratifying to see the support we’re getting from key retailers,” said David Binke, chief executive officer of King Koil. “The reaction to our new product line has been very robust and we are excited to see this increased activity in the western U.S.”

Under the new business model, King Koil no longer has domestic licensees, and its products are made at either the company-owned factory in Avondale, Arizona, or through its strategic partnership with Blue Bell Mattress Co., headquartered in East Windsor, Connecticut.
