Saudia Arabia’s Almutlaq Group in Riyadh has inked a deal with North Brunswick, New Jersey-based Bedding Industries of America to license bed brand Eclipse International for distribution throughout Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
Almutlaq Group is a private holding group with companies in manufacturing, retailing, finance and real estate. It is one of the largest furniture manufacturers and retailers in the region, and makes the Atlas mattress brand. The company also holds licenses to manufacture a number of American case goods and upholstery brands, including Bassett and La-Z-Boy, among others.
Almutlaq executives Anas El Yafi and Arun Sharma worked with Stuart Carlitz, Bedding Industries president and chief executive officer, for over a year, working out a deal that allows the company to sell the bed brand in its own stores, to other major retailers and to hoteliers throughout the region.
“We are very excited to have such a prominent family and company join our worldwide family of factories,” Carlitz said. “With Eclipse and Eastman House at neighboring factories in Pakistan, Turkey and India, this is a great addition to the region.”
