FXI celebrates safety record

Industry supplier FXI Foamex Innovations has announced that its manufacturing plant in Cornelius, N.C., has set a new safety record after a yearlong safety campaign. The plant broke its prior safety record by passing the 12–month mark without having an OSHA–recordable incident. The last lost–time injury at the facility was in June 2008.

In recognition of the achievement, the Media, Pa.–based foamer sponsored Safety Appreciation Day for the facility’s 95 employees. Events included a dinner, award presentations and a commemorative gift for all workers.

“This new record is a testament to the safety culture and awareness that every FXI employee takes seriously,” said Richard Centeno, the facility’s plant manager. “I’m very proud of our employees. They have diligently followed proper procedures, donned personal protective equipment every time and are always looking out for their fellow co–workers. It is a substantial achievement worthy of management accolades and congratulations.”
