Mattress giant Serta and cancer research center City of Hope in Duarte, Calif., have partnered for a fundraiser—Adopt-a-Sheep for the Fight Against Cancer. Through March, consumers are invited to “adopt” a limited edition No. 60 Counting Sheep plush toy. The adoption is tied to the purchase or rest-test of an iComfort Sleep System at a participating retailer. Consumers also can adopt sheep online at www.serta.com/adopt. Money raised will support City of Hope’s cancer research, treatment and education centers. Serta, based in Hoffman Estates, Ill., is donating a minimum of $1.50 for every sheep sold or distributed. The plushies have been collectibles since 2000, when Serta introduced the Counting Sheep as brand mascots.
