Fabric and FR-barrier supplier Springs Creative took part in the “Make a Bed and Make a Difference” bed race for charity held May 14 in Rock Hill, S.C., where the company has its headquarters. The event was part of the annual Rock Hill Come-See-Me Festival.

The Springs Creative “Turn & Burn” team, which included Allen Bost, Brian Franklin, Brad Orr, Caroline Reeves and Jake Smrekar, earned second place in the race, missing first by just a fraction of a second. The team also won the People’s Choice award for raising the most money.

“This fun, competitive event was a great way to raise money for a worthy cause and raise community awareness at the same time,” said Caroline Reeves, Springs Creative product manager. “We’ll make up that .3 seconds next year, so look out Rock Hill!”

Donations benefited Family Promise of York County, a nonprofit that provides food, shelter, support and life training skills to homeless families.
