The Polyurethane Foam Association, headquartered in Loudon, Tenn., elected Joseph Progar, executive vice president of Advanced Urethane Technologies, as president of the group and named other officers for 2013 during a general business meeting in November.

Progar replaces Lynn Knudtson of Future Foam Inc., who moves into the past-president role.

Upon his election, Progar said, “We have the benefit of working with a great product, and we have a tremendous opportunity to tell our story collectively. I look forward to continuing to be part of the very effective and important advocacy work being done by the PFA and to reinforcing those efforts with new initiatives that strengthen our industry.”

Before joining Advanced Urethane Technologies, Progar was vice president of sales and operations for the polyurethane division of Leggett & Platt Inc. Prior to that, he spent eight years as regional manager for United Foam Corp.

Other newly elected officers include First Vice President Greg Davis of William T. Burnett & Co., Second Vice President Bill Gollnitz of Plastomer Corp., Secretary Joe Wingfield of Prestige Fabricators Inc. and Treasurer Bobby Bush of Hickory Springs Mfg. Co. Bob Luedeka serves as executive director of the association.
