Wisconsin recycler opens with good PR

recycling arrows logoMidwest Mattress Recovery LLC, a new recycler in Watertown, Wis., was featured in a story in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on March 3.

“The business model is built on market research, but in large part it’s also built on a vision for environmental sustainability. Landfill space is shrinking and Wisconsin is a progressive recycling state,” company founder Bob Mudler told the newspaper.

The company will break down used mattresses and foundations and recycle the components for use in new products such as steel and carpet underlay. Mudler’s goal is to process as many as 75,000 pieces a year, employing seven to 10 people. The company is charging $10 per piece.
