Mattress licensing group Therapedic International has inked a licensing deal with Turkish home furnishings producer Istikbal. The company is owned by the Boydak Group, headquartered in Kayseri.

“We are thrilled to partner with such a prominent brand that shares our vision of providing customers with high-quality products at value prices,” said Mehmet Bilici, president of Sunset International Trade LLC, the U.S. representative for Istikbal. “Additionally, we look forward to using our extensive resources and influence in Turkey to bring the Therapedic brand to showroom floors throughout the country.”

As Therapedic’s first licensee in Turkey, Istikbal immediately will begin manufacturing and shipping Therapedic mattresses and foundations, a news release said. Istikbal’s client base includes more than 1,000 dealers in Turkey.

“The popularity of U.S.-branded sleep products continues to grow around the world,” said Gerry Borreggine, Therapedic president and chief executive officer. “With Turkey’s growing middle class, consumer purchasing power is continuously increasing, and we saw an opportunity to introduce Therapedic products to a new audience. Istikbal is a brand name recognized throughout the world and a well-respected company in Turkey that will represent the Therapedic brand with dignity and strength. We are eager to begin this partnership.”
