The sixth annual Ante4Autism poker tournament held Jan. 26 at the Golden Nugget during the Las Vegas Market raised a record $47,465 for autism research and advocacy group Autism Speaks. Organizers reported a “huge turnout” at the event with monies raised through outright donations, entry fees, corporate sponsorships, a silent auction and a live auction of a Jose Canseco game jersey.
Brian Iriye won the Grand Champion plaque, Miko Hughes finished second and Karina Jett finished third.
Ante4Autism event cohost Gary Blackney of mattress maker Simmons said, “We appreciated all the support (from everyone and had a) record number of players, including over two dozen celebrities and professional poker players.”
Additional donations may be made online at the Ante4Autism website.
