Boyd offers instant gratification with ‘My Mattress Now’ drop-ship program

Boyd Specialty Sleep logoRetailers who have at least one Boyd Specialty Sleep mattress on their floors can have orders shipped directly to consumers under the new My Mattress Now drop-ship program. In what the St. Louis, Mo.-based company calls a first of its kind service among mattress producers, Boyd will ship single orders directly to shoppers, at a cost to retailers of just $20 per order.

Most orders get same-day shipping from Boyd’s 60,000-square-foot warehouse in St. Louis, or from the company’s 320,000-square-foot warehouse in Los Angeles. Products destined for the East Coast or West Coast typically reaches consumers in three days. All products are in stock and ready to ship—not made to order.

The program is designed to offer retailers cost savings, delivery convenience and operational efficiency, a news release stated.

“For years, we’ve been shipping orders for our products within 24 hours,” said President Denny Boyd. “Now we’re simply offering to ship orders directly to consumers on behalf of retailers who see the value in not having to buy products, inventory them or ship them to consumers.”

According to Denny Boyd, retailers who use My Mattress Now need not be concerned about inventory shrinkage or consumer delivery and product complaints. “We maintain a large staff of well trained, knowledgeable and dedicated people at the other end of our toll-free number. Many of these employees have been with us for 15 to 20 years. They know our products, are very skilled at answering questions and diagnosing issues and can easily make the customer happy right away. Ultimately, retailers could use their delivery savings to incentivize floor salespeople to promote the program to shoppers.”
