Sleep Innovations and Flexible Foam become ‘Innocor,’ Eicher named CEO

Sun Capital Partners, which purchased Spencerville, Ohio-based Flexible Foam Products Inc. earlier this year, has merged the foam supplier with specialty sleep manufacturer Sleep Innovations, which the private equity firm bought in 2012, naming the new company Innocor Inc.

Sun Capital has appointed Carol Eicher as president and chief operating officer of the new Long Branch, New Jersey-based entity. Most recently, she was business president of Dow’s Global Coating and Construction division. Prior to that, Eicher was global business director of Rohm and Haas’s Primary Materials division. Previously, Eicher was with Ashland Chemical Co. and DuPont.

“This is an exciting day for the company as we adopt the name Innocor Inc. to communicate that innovation is at the core of everything we do, and we appoint a new CEO in Carol Eicher,” said Richard Brown, Innocor chairman of the board. “The board and I are confident Carol is the best choice to guide the business as we leverage our increased manufacturing footprint as both a retail partner and OEM supplier.”

Innocor manufactures a range of memory-foam products under the Sleep Innovations, Novaform, Comfort Co., Stanley Utility Mats and other brand names.

Eicher said, “I’m thrilled to come on board during this pivotal time in the company’s history. This company has never viewed itself as simply a foam converter, and our new name reflects that. From our rich tradition of research-based innovations, to our deep knowledge of industry trends, Innocor Inc. is committed to translating the science of foam into true product solutions for our partners.

“We have the most talented sales organization in the industry, operate in the strongest manufacturing communities nationwide and are supported by a marketing team that is second to none,” she added. “This organizational strength ensures Innocor Inc. will continue to lead the industry by offering customized solutions not only for the bedroom, but for the home and office, as well as new, unique touch points for future applications.”

Sun Capital has had a long record of involvement in the sleep products industry and has offices in Boca Raton, Florida; Los Angeles and New York, as well as affiliates around the globe.
