ISPA and MRC hold California mattress-recycling meetings

ISPA logoLast month, the International Sleep Products Association and Mattress Recycling Council, a nonprofit organization created by ISPA to implement state mattress-recycling laws, held the first in a series of meetings to receive feedback on the implementation of California’s mattress-recycling law.

The California law requires ISPA and MRC to consult with an advisory committee made up of representatives from several sectors relevant to mattress recycling. The committee convened for the first time on June 4, followed by a meeting of interested stakeholders, including municipal waste officials, regulators, mattress manufacturers and retailers, recyclers, environmental supporters and others. The MRC’s website, www.mattressrecyclingcouncil.org, contains further information on the implementation of the California law.
