Springs Creative markets Kraton's ‘cooling’ Nexar polymers

Springs Creative logoIndustry supplier Springs Creative Products Group, with headquarters in Rock Hill, South Carolina, is working with Houston-based Kraton Performance Polymers Inc. to develop new markets for Kraton’s proprietary, moisture-activated Nexar cooling technology.

The two companies signed a marketing-assistance agreement April 10, a news release said, with the goal of finding new applications for Kraton’s Nexar polymers in the bedding, foam and performance- textiles segments.

Kraton is a multinational company with a presence in more than 60 countries and a leading producer of engineered polymers used in an array of products, including consumer and personal-care items, adhesives and coatings, electronics, medical supplies, automotive components, and paving and roofing materials.

Nexar polymers are said to provide an enhanced and sustained cooling effect, greater than 2 degrees Fahrenheit, as long as moisture vapor is present. The product is easily applied to many fabrics, stands up to repeated washings, and has “smart technology that works when you need it.”

Kim Hall, Springs Creative vice president of sales for the Specialty Products Group, said, “Customers demand performance, and by entering into this agreement with Kraton, Springs Creative will be able to help Kraton expand its market penetration with one of the most advanced and unique cooling technologies on the market. We are really excited about this relationship with Kraton and the opportunities it presents for both Kraton and Springs.”
