Sleep products supplier Glideaway has appointed industry veteran Scott Miller vice president of contract sales and business development.

In his new role, Miller is focused on hospitality, rental and military contract sales, and works with existing and new clients to develop programs and strategies.

Miller has more than 20 years of experience in the mattress industry. Most recently, he and furniture-retailing veteran Art Van Elslander founded mattress maker Dreams LLC. Prior to that, he was executive vice president then chief marketing officer with Southerland. Previously, he was with Natura World and the former IBC. In the 1990s, while with Simmons, Miller is credited with creating the Heavenly Bed for Westin. He began his bedding career in retail, as the owner of two successful sleep shop chains.

“We believe that it is the right time to expand our team and Scott’s extensive knowledge of the bedding industry will open doors to new business opportunities,” said Dan Baker, Glideaway vice president of sales. “He has a great track record in developing new strategic business plans and training across many different platforms and programs, which makes him uniquely qualified for this role; we are thrilled at the opportunity to have Scott work with us.”

Commenting on his new role, Miller said, “Glideaway is a wonderful company with a strong, multigenerational commitment to serving American retailers. Their unique approach as a solutions provider and commitment to serve their customers is something I am excited to be a part of.”
