Revamped Protect-A-Bed HQ promotes rest and recovery

Roadside service Protection product supplier Protect-A-Bed is sending out its REM-Fit Recovery Station to dozens of running and sporting events in the Chicago area through October. The crew, based in Wheeling, Illinois, talks to athletes about the importance of rest and recovery and offers discounted sleep accessories.

Sleep accessories supplier Protect-A-Bed has upgraded its headquarters and showroom in Wheeling, Illinois, adding a training center for customers called Protect-A-Bed University, a new showroom displaying the company’s entire product lineup and a CrossFit gym for employees. Protect-A-Bed’s headquarters boasts 20,000 square feet of office space and a 200,000-square-foot warehouse.

“As our company and product lines continue to grow, we wanted to ensure that our showroom has a feel of uniformity,” said James Bell, Protect-A-Bed chief executive officer. “We’re excited to expand our interactive learning opportunities at our headquarters, as well as in the field. As Protect-A-Bed’s sales teams continue to grow, the need for easily accessible and consistent training has increased.”

Since 2014, Protect-A-Bed has focused on its REM-Fit collection of bedding protectors and other products, which target consumers interested in healthy, active lifestyles. In keeping with the fitness theme, Protect-A-Bed is sending out a “road crew” to more than 40 fun runs, triathlons, marathons and other racing events in the greater Chicago area through October. Riding in the REM-Fit Recovery Station (a converted ambulance), the crew provides information about rest and recovery, offers REM-Fit products for sale at discounted prices and engraves medals for race participants.

“At REM-Fit, we understand the importance of a good night’s rest to help athletes achieve their fitness goals,” Bell said. “We’re excited to get in front of our local running community and inspire them to stay motivated and get the quality sleep that they require.
