The wholesale dollar value of those units sprang up 12.2%, while the average unit selling price increased 3.9% compared with June of last year.

The 2015 second quarter also shows unit shipments and wholesale revenues increased over second quarter 2014 levels by 4.3% and 7.3%, respectively, while AUSP increased 2.9% compared with the second quarter of 2014.

The Bedding Barometer reports U.S. sales activity (including Puerto Rico) for 13 U.S. mattress producers. The participating companies accounted for 69.5% of the mattress units shipped and 77.9% of the wholesale market revenue for mattresses sold in 2014. The experience of these participants as a group does not necessarily reflect those of the entire mattress manufacturing industry. Furthermore, comparisons of Bedding Barometer results for different time periods can be affected by a number of factors, including differences in the number of workdays and holiday promotions in a given month, weather conditions, non-reporting manufacturers entering or exiting the market and other variables.
