Beds these days have any number of bells and whistles—cooling, heating, docking, adjusting. But what about something to keep a bed partner from stealing the covers?
A couple in Lexington, North Carolina, has created the Snooze Strap to help other couples sleep peacefully, according to an article in the Greensboro News & Record.
The adjustable Snooze Strap encircles the mattress lengthwise to keep blankets and sheets in place and can fit double, queen and king beds. It has a clip that holds covers in place, but can be unfastened when couples want to be closer.
Rick and Stephanie Allred invented the patent-pending product after 32 years of marriage and countless middle-of-the-night awakenings when one would roll and pull the covers off the other.
They recommend the product for young parents, who frequently are getting up to take care of children, and midlife couples, when a woman is dealing with hot flashes and is tempted to fling the covers off herself—and her partner, the article notes.
The Allreds have been using the Snooze Strap for more than a year and have even taken it on vacation.
“You can get in and out of the bed without disturbing the other person,” Stephanie Allred says. “So we absolutely love it.”
