XSENSOR Technology Corp., a supplier of pressure-mapping technology and systems based in Calgary, Alberta, has promoted Richard Brass to senior vice president, Sleep North America, and hired industry veteran Brent Biermann as a business development manager, Sleep North America.
“Since joining XSENSOR, Richard has been instrumental in growing our presence in the sleep market and helping our customers build success using XSENSOR’s Reveal products,” said Bruce Malkinson, chief operating officer of XSENSOR. “We are excited about the opportunity to continue to build our global presence and to continue to improve the experience for the retail customer, while increasing operating income for both the manufacturer and retailer.”
Brass has been with XSENSOR since March 2014 as vice president of sales, Sleep North America and then senior vice president of sales for Sleep North America. He has more than 25 years of experience in the bedding industry, including positions as regional vice president of Simmons, president of T3 Recovery Worldwide and marketing director for a key regional retailer.
Biermann, who reports to Brass, assumes responsibility for Reveal by XSENSOR business development in the eastern United States. He has 26 years of bedding industry experience in sales, operations and manufacturing, as well as nine years as a department store buyer. Most recently, he was sales director in consumer bedding at FXI for four years. Previously, he held sales and operations positions with King Koil for six years, Serta for 12 years and Sealy for three years.
“I am very happy to have Brent Biermann join the XSENSOR team in North America,” Brass said. “Brent brings a strong background in both the retail and manufacturing sector of the mattress business. This experience will be paramount to helping our retail partners grow their mattress business in sales, profitability and customer satisfaction.”
