She replaces Mike Wilson, who retired in December.

Dickenson’s focus is on building a differenti-ated brand through customer-centric initiatives that create a connection with customers and help them get the best night’s sleep possible, according to a company news release.

“Sicily is the right person to advance our marketing efforts as we continue to meet the needs of our customers in an age when they are more engaged and connected than ever before,” said Ken Murphy, Mattress Firm president and chief executive officer. “We are thrilled to have Sicily join our team as we move into the next chapter of our story.”

Commenting on her new post, Dickenson said: “Mattress Firm’s commitment to excellence is powerful and I am energized to bolster existing marketing efforts through additional touchpoints that allow us to connect with our customers. The industry is experiencing unprecedented levels of innovation and growth, and we are thrilled to be part of it.”

Mattress Firm has more than 3,600 company-operated and franchised stores across 49 U.S. states and is the largest multibrand bedding retailer in the nation. In 2016, it was acquired by South Africa-based Steinhoff International Holdings NV in a deal valued at $3.8 billion.
