Gribetz International, a division of Carthage, Missouri-based Leggett & Platt Inc.’s Global Systems Group, has introduced a unique multihead quilting machine with “distinct needle control technology,” the company said in a news release.
Leggett & Platt Inc.’s Global Systems Group, based in Carthage, Missouri, has launched the Gribetz Spectrum quilter, capable of sewing unique quilt patterns with needles that operate independently of one another.
The new Spectrum quilter was introduced in at the furniture components show Interzum May 16-19 in Cologne, Germany. It uses newly developed Gribetz engineering to turn on and off 15 autonomous sewing needles to create patterns unlike any conventional three-bar quilt machine, the release said. The Spectrum consists of two rows of independently controlled sewing heads that can sew at speeds up to 1,200 revolutions per minute. The Spectrum satisfies three critical needs of mattress manufacturers: styling creativity, productivity and uptime.
The quilt patterns created with Spectrum’s distinct needle control capability differ from nearly all other quilters because a variety of shapes can be sewn by any combination of sewing heads as needed, creating the ability for unique shapes and pattern arrangements per quilt panel, the company said.
