A. Lava & Son Co., a supplier of contract sewing and product assembly services that includes zippered cover production, quilting services, mattress components, turnkey boxed-bed programs and more, has hired Mason Hallett and promoted Chris Bunce.
Each reports to Adam Lava, co-owner of the Chicago-based company.
Hallett, a mattress fabrics veteran, assumes the role of vice president of sales, a new position for the company. Bunce, previously A. Lava’s East Coast sales manager, was named to the new post vice president of consumer products.
Hallett is responsible for the development of current and new business growth strategies that leverage the company’s multichannel platform, Lava said. “We are very excited to welcome Mason to our team. Not only will he bring a focus on customer relationships to our sales team, but he also brings a wealth of textile knowledge to our design team and vendors who come into contact with him.”
Most recently, Hallett was director of national accounts for DesleeClama. Previously, he spent more than 22 years with ticking supplier the former Blumenthal Print Works, which was shuttered in 2010.
Commenting on his new post with A. Lava, Hallett said: “I am pleased to be working with fourth-generation owners Adam Lava and Steve Appelbaum. We share the vision of a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial stewardship and an understanding of always looking to the future.”
Bunce, who joined the company in 2013, continues in his sales responsibilities and takes responsibility for new product development in A. Lava’s new consumer products division.
Lava said of Bunce: “Chris offers strong product vision, innovative thinking and team-building skills. He continues to have success in creating a consumer product platform for A. Lava & Son. His knowledge in the growing e-commerce landscape makes him a key asset for our multichannel strategic growth plans.”
