Arcadia, Wisconsin-based Ashley Furniture Industries Inc. is donating more than 4,700 mattresses to victims of Hurricane Maria, which hit Puerto Rico in September 2017.
The estimated $1 million donation is in partnership with the Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Puerto Rico, owned and operated by family company Empresas Berríos. Its personnel are delivering the donated mattresses, and the U.S. Army National Guard is leading the caravan of Ashley Furniture HomeStore-Berríos trucks across the island, through more than 70 cities, to make the deliveries.
