Carthage, Missouri-based Global Systems Group, Leggett & Platt Inc.’s machinery division, has promoted Paul Block to president of GSG sales and Terry Myers to vice president of engineering.
Block first came to work for GSG in 2010 upon acquisition of his business, Galkin Automated Products. His career-long involvement in the mattress industry has made him a key part of GSG’s success since that acquisition, according to the company. He has led the sales management group in Asia over the course of his tenure with GSG and continues to do so in his new position. In his new role, he also focuses on GSG’s main domestic customers while leading the sales force throughout the United States and Canada. His global and local market involvement helps grow, strengthen and solidify GSG’s place in the market, the company says.
Myers celebrated 25 years with Leggett & Platt in 2017. He became part of the GSG team in 1997 when he took over as director of engineering for the Gribetz International brand. Since that time, he has worked in a multitude of capacities inside GSG, focusing mainly on product development. Myers’ new responsibilities include leading all the engineering efforts for GSG, as well as working with all related facilities to build a common design platform. This common platform will enable the company to better utilize its synergies on both the design and manufacturing fronts.
“I look forward to working with both (executives) in growing and building a stronger GSG business,” said Mike Miller, GSG president.
