New Zealand’s John Marshall & Co. Ltd., which produces the Joma Wool brand, has invested in product audit capabilities to verify the authenticity of its product for retailers, supply partners and consumers.

Branded Joma Wool producer John Marshall & Co. Ltd., based in Christchurch, New Zealand, has partnered with traceability testing company Oritain, with headquarters in Otago, New Zealand, to protect its brand and inspire consumer confidence.

Oritain uses a traceability method that has “fingerprinted” real Joma Wool from New Zealand. This means that Marshall can call upon Oritain to test any of its products along the supply chain and match it to the fingerprint to ensure product integrity.

According to Marshall, New Zealand sheep have “the whitest, strongest and cleanest wool due to a combination of climate, care and expert farming practices.” Joma Wool is shorn from free-roaming crossbred sheep raised in very large pastures. Joma Wool is further enhanced through a special crimping process to add even more bounce and body, the company said.

More information about the Joma Wool traceability program is available at the Oritain website.
