Sleep accessories supplier PureCare has begun manufacturing pillows in the United States in partnership with equipment company Brighi Tech Innovations, part of Brighi Tecnologie Italia s.n.c., based in Forli, Italy. The new cutting-edge pillow manufacturing system is installed at PureCare’s 120,000-square-foot campus in Phoenix. The line gives PureCare the ability to produce up to 5,600 pillows per day.
“We recognized the need to diversify our business to continue the tremendous growth we’ve had from day one,” said Jeff Bergman, PureCare chief executive officer. “(We knew) domestic manufacturing was going to be key to expanding our footprint among specialty mattress and furniture retailers, mass merchants and hospitality markets.”
The Brighi production line gives PureCare entry into the fiber pillow market. The manufacturing system produces and packages a full range of fiber and shredded foam pillows and has roll-pack and flat-pack capability. The equipment occupies about 25% of the Phoenix facility, and plans are in place to add more production lines, as well as cut-and-sew operations, according to a news release.
“PureCare already brings tremendous value to the category because we are the leaders in terms of quality and wellness focus, and now with manufacturing in the U.S., we are better able to answer the growing consumer demand for high quality products that enhance the sleep environment and offer real wellness benefits at more accessible prices,” said Sean Bergman, PureCare chief operating officer.
The decision to use Brighi equipment was based on the companies’ shared ethos as family-run and customer-centric businesses, Sean Bergman said. “We researched pillow machinery manufacturers from several different countries, and Brighi by far offered the most sophisticated and precise system to achieve our goal of producing the finest products with the finest materials. Relationships are so important to us, whether it’s a customer, retail partner or supplier, and the decision to partner with Brighi has been a result of many years of developing trust and respect for our shared pursuit of quality.”
