Mattress manufacturer Kingsdown, based in Mebane, North Carolina, is upgrading its premium air chamber mattress Sleep Smart Air to work with expanded voice activation and Wi-Fi capabilities through Amazon’s Alexa devices.
The upgrade gives users the ability to control the amount of air in multiple support zones, as well as control functionality of the company’s Epitome and Delight adjustable bed bases, with more than 40 prompts.
Sleep Smart Air and Kingsdown’s adjustable bed bases, allows users to adjust the bed and positioning to the levels recommended by bedMATCH, the company’s diagnostic system.
Retailing for $3,499 in queen size, Sleep Smart Air combines air chambers with a foam core and an advanced memory foam formulation.
Other features include VX memory foam and an Intellimax performance fabric cover designed to maintain breathability and wick away heat and moisture.
“As integrated home technology continues to grow, consumers are discovering new ways to enhance their sleep environments,” said Frank Hood, president and chief executive officer of Kingsdown. “Our technology with direct commands for Alexa delivers that desired connectivity. Working in conjunction with our proven bedMATCH diagnostic system and our adjustable bed bases, Sleep Smart Air can develop a personalized plan in minutes.”
