Culp Inc. announced Mary Beth Hunsberger is the new vice president of Culp Upholstery Fabrics, a division of the family-owned, High Point, North Carolina-based mattress and upholstery fabric company. Hunsberger will report directly to Iv Culp, president and chief executive officer of Culp Inc.

Her arrival also coincides with a change for the current division president, Boyd Chumbley. Chumbley and Hunsberger will work together to transition their roles before Hunsberger succeeds him as division president in the third quarter of 2024. After that, Chumbley will continue his work at the company in an advisory role.

Hunsberger most recently served as president of North and South America for Dedon Inc. Since 2023, she was concurrently the Chief Operating Officer of North and South America for Gloster Furniture. Before these roles, Hunsberger spent 13 years at Tempur Sealy International Inc.

“Her broad experience and knowledge of the home furnishings industry will help us continue to build upon the strong foundation of success created under Boyd’s leadership,” said Culp of the transition. “We believe Mary Beth is a terrific fit for our current and future strategic plans, and we are pleased that she will have an extended time to work with Boyd and learn from his deep knowledge of Culp Upholstery Fabrics.”
