New CEO Takes Helm at Latexco Group

Latexco Group, with global headquarters in Tielt, Belgium, appointed Lieven Vandendriessche chief executive officer on July 15. The privately held industry supplier is owned by Luc Maes and his daughter, Carole Maes.

“As my father is taking a step back, Lieven and I will work together closely to lead Latexco towards further growth, diversification and internationalization,” Carole Maes said.

Vandendriessche has spent 25 years in management posts at industrial companies based in Belgium. Most recently, he was managing director of the carpet and tile division of Balta Group. Prior to that, he was general manager of BekaertDeslee in Europe. He began his career at Deceuninck, a maker of window and door systems, and held various titles, including vice president of operations and business development director.

On accepting the post, Vandendriessche said: “I am really looking forward to starting with Latexco. First and foremost because Latexco is a family business, which allows us to really (focus on) long-term results. Second, I see a lot of potential for growth enabled by recent company investments. The bedding sector is in full transition, and I am convinced that Latexco holds a unique position (enabling it) to emerge a winner.”
