Extending its global footprint to nearly 50 countries, Boston-based mattress licensing group Spring Air International has signed a license agreement with Isbir Bedding of Ankara, Turkey, that will expand the brand’s presence in Bulgaria, Hungary and Turkey.
“Our international licensees have had tremendous success with our product portfolio because there is a strong appetite for U.S. brands across the globe,” said Nick Bates, president of Spring Air International. “This agreement will lead us into three international markets that will position us for continued growth abroad. We have already established a strong presence across the European continent and into new areas that are developing stronger consumer markets. Isbir has strong reach into these markets and will be a great partner for us in the region.”
Founded in 1968, Isbir Bedding is a division of Isbir Holding, which also owns Isbir Foam, one of the oldest and largest manufacturers of polyurethane foams, mattresses and medical foams in Turkey.

Along with forming the relationship with Isbir, Spring Air also is expanding its alliance with Cairo-based mattress manufacturer Bed Janssen to include Greece among the countries in which Bed Janssen distributes Spring Air’s brands. Bed Janssen also markets Spring Air products to retailers in Belgium, Egypt, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Morocco and the Netherlands.
