Now for mattresses: Supracor Inc.’s thermoplastic polyurethane honeycomb technology already is used in a variety of products, from medical applications to amusement park rides.
The San Jose, Calif.-based company sells its honeycomb technology to a range of industries. The cushioning can be found in everything from pressure-management medical mattresses to amusement park rides, the company said.
The flexible material is made up of alternating thick- and thin-walled, hexagonally shaped cells that are fusion bonded without adhesives. They instantly resume their original shape after compression.
The company describes Stimulite as lightweight, “92% open space” that is perforated to circulate air and evaporate moisture. It is sustainably made in California from American-made, eco-friendly materials, is washable and 100% recyclable, Supracor said.
Supracor introduced Stimulite at the winter Las Vegas Market in the Made in USA temporary pavilion.
