Former ISPA president and King Koil exec Ernie Friedman dies

Former King Koil executive and International Sleep Products Association trustee Ernie Friedman died on June 10 in Minnesota. He was 81.

Friedman worked in the mattress industry for half a century and was president of ISPA in the 1980s. He was a founding member of the association’s Better Sleep Council.

Dave Roberts, president of Comfort Solutions (formerly King Koil), described Friedman as a visionary leader who saw the potential for international growth of mattress brands. “His greatest achievement was the vision and foresight he had for the international development of the King Koil brand,” he said.

The family requests that contributions be made to Mount Sinai Community Foundation, c/o Max Fallek, 8715 W. Moreland Lane, Minneapolis, MN 55426.
